CV Tips
Here are some helpful hints for you to remember when
preparing your C.V:
- The purpose of a C.V is to persuade the
employer that you should be interviewed.
- Start with a brief summary of your skills and attributes
relevant to the vacancy you are applying for.
- It is important that a C.V is targeted to the
job you are applying for, so keep it relevant and
concise.
- Include brief details of your highest education or
qualifications; a brief work history including dates, job
titles, duties and the reason for leaving - it is not
necessary to go back further than 10 years. Also include a
brief summary of "other" skills.
A cover letter is the first impression an
employer will have of you:
- Tell them what you have to offer the organisation as
well as why you want this position
- Ensure it is accurately addressed to the correct person
- Make sure that your contact details are clear and remember to
sign the letter
- Keep it brief, no more than a page
- Remember to check your spelling and grammar
